At California Sun Support Services (CSSS), our mission is simple yet powerful — to help adults with developmental disabilities live fulfilling, independent lives in the communities they choose to call home.
We provide assistance with common daily living and routine household activities, accessing medical services, and animal companions, and we train our clients to continuously improve their daily living skills.
But we go beyond providing support —we inspire growth. Our team guides and teaches in ways that nurture intellectual, social, emotional, and physical development, helping each person gain the confidence and skills they need to thrive.

What We Offer

Practical, person-centered support that builds everyday skills, confidence, and connection—tailored to each individual’s goals and needs.

Personal Care And Household Management

We provide support to build healthy grooming and hygiene habits as part of a daily routine.
We also encourage our clients to participate in household chores such as cleaning or doing laundry, while making sure the living environment remains clean, habitable, and a place the client proudly calls "home".

Menu Planning, Shopping And Cooking

Training and support in planning balanced menus and grocery lists, shopping with confidence and independence, and using kitchen appliances safely (stove, oven, microwave, toaster, etc.) are integral part sof our services.

Money Management

Our clients will have the opportunity to learn to budget money for groceries, to pay bills, personal items, household items and other expenses. We'll also offer support establishing and keeping a balanced bank account (write checks, initiate deposits, etc.)

Use Of Public Transportation

We provide mobility training as needed to make sure our clients have unlimited access to traveling to and from their desired destination. Clients will learn to access wheelchair lifts and learn how to use the bus schedule, and we provide assistance and training in community safety and pedestrian rules.

Recreational Activities

Our clients will have the opportunity to sign up for Special Olympics and other recreational organizations that involve bowling, skiing, hockey, ice skating, swimming, bicycling, baseball, basketball, etc.), ROP services including arts and craft, computers, physical fitness, etc. Other activities such as dances, picnics, holiday parties, museums tours, amusement parks, etc., will also be available.

Health And Medical Services

We make sure our clients have on-going access to medical, dental, and therapeutic services. During these visits, clients will be accompanied by their SLS support coach, and they will be educated about their doctor visits and purpose and side-effect of prescribed medications.

Self-Advocacy

We believe that self advocacy is all about empowering our clients to take control of their own lives. That's whyh we offer training tin areas such as voting, personal rights and responsibilities as a citizen, appropriate communication skills (verbal/non-verbal), appropriate decision making, and on-going training on different type of abuses such as sexual, physical, emotional, verbal, economical,, etc.

Staff Involvement

Thanks to one-on-one involvement,  areas of strengths and weaknesses can be recognized, and individualized plans are implemented based on our clients' expressed desired goals in the planning process.

Who We Serve

California Sun Support Services provides non-medical are to adults with developmental disabilities who are eligible for Supported Living Services. Many of our individuals will be transitioning out of a residential facility or moving from family homes to supported living.
We have care teams across all of California, ready to provide support wherever they are needed.
Our services are available 24 hours a day, on all 365 days of the year, including holidays.

Initiating Services with us is easy:
Meet-And-Greet
Intake Assessment & Care Plan
Services Begin
Everything starts with a meet-and-greet, where clients and family members get to know our company and we get to know their needs. If the meeting is successful, we conduct an intake assessment, create a tailored care plan and forward it together with a care contract. Once the Care contract is signed, services can begin. Typically, care services start about 1 week after the intake assessment.

Call us and arrange a meet-and-greet. If we're a match, we'll provide you professional care in no time.
